  Gary Duvernay

00.gary duvernay is a designer, sound artist, reseracher, writer and DJ whose practices moves between sound, form, and perception. He explores sound as a critical material — to question how social and political constructions resonate within our daily environments, and how communities emerge, fracture, and heal through shared sonic experiences. His works unfold across installations, sound art, performances, and texts, each developed through a sensitive inquiry where emotion, intuition, and theory intertwine. Drawing from both embodied experience and conceptual frameworks, gary duvernay approaches creation as a means to reveal, support, or deconstruct the systems that shape our collective realities. His practice navigates between poetic intensity and analytical depth, using sound and design as instruments of reflection and resistance — tools to sense, to feel, and to think otherwise.

What if sound was a way of walking ?
Inspired by Guy Debord’s—Théorie de la Dérive—this artwork is not a static form—but a ritual signal. An aberrant fragment of sonic momentum, sculpted not fro the eye, but for the soma. It mimics the path of a wanderer: no center, no linearity, only intuitive turns and shifting gravitives. 
Each surfaces carries the echo of a sound not yet heard—sediments of noise layered with the possibilities of becoming. To wander is to resist the imposed cartographies. Through this piece, sound becomes an act of spatial disobidience, a movement of refusal. It doesn’t illustrate—it invites.
The scultpure is not a monument. It’s a drift. A resonance. A threshold.
